From Science Enthusiast to Recruitment Expert<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Christelle\u2019s career started in the lab, where her curiosity and love for science led her to earn a Master\u2019s in Biotechnology and a PhD in Immunology, specialising in Autoimmunity. Originally from France, she moved to Australia over 20 years ago to continue her research at the Diamantina Institute, where she earned a prestigious Smart State Fellowship.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, her career took an exciting turn when she transitioned into commercial sales for global companies like Olympus, Sigma-Aldrich, and Merck. After over a decade in the industry, Christelle found her true calling in STEM recruitment, where she could use her deep industry knowledge to connect top scientific talent with the right opportunities.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never looked back,\u201d she says. \u201cRecruitment allows me to use my network and experience to help people find careers they love, while also supporting businesses in building strong, capable teams.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A Passion for Science and People<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Christelle\u2019s love for science was sparked by an inspiring teacher in high school. \u201cMy Science teacher in Grade 10 and 11 was a huge influence,\u201d she recalls. \u201cI always told her I pursued a PhD because of her!\u201d Her natural curiosity and creativity have always drawn her to science, which she describes as both an art and a discipline.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Having worked across various roles in research, sales, and leadership, Christelle has a broad understanding of the STEM landscape. \u201cI\u2019ve recruited for a range of roles from junior lab roles to executive-level positions, across biotech, pharmaceuticals, engineering, and life sciences,\u201d she explains. \u201cI love the diversity of the industry and the impact these roles have on innovation and progress.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Overcoming Challenges in STEM Recruitment<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With years of experience in both science and recruitment, Christelle understands the complexities of the hiring market. One of the biggest challenges, she notes, is navigating Australia\u2019s visa requirements. \u201cThere are so many talented candidates, but immigration policies can make it difficult. That\u2019s where we step in\u2014sourcing Australian or permanent resident candidates, even from overseas, to help our clients find the right fit.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Building trust with clients and candidates is at the heart of Christelle\u2019s approach. \u201cHonesty is everything,\u201d she says. \u201cI want to understand people\u2019s goals, challenges, and needs so I can truly help them. The more information I have, the better I can support both candidates and clients.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A Standout Placement and a Lasting Impact<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For Christelle, the most rewarding placement wasn\u2019t about securing the highest salary but about changing someone\u2019s life. \u201cI placed a young candidate into his first commercial sales role in life sciences, despite the client initially rejecting his CV,\u201d she shares. \u201cI knew he was the right fit because I understood both the candidate and the company. After a quick meeting, they hired him within a week! He\u2019s been a successful account manager ever since. Moments like that make this job incredibly fulfilling.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
