Meet our newest team member, Luke Kondys!

Luke joins us as a Senior Recruitment Consultant in Brisbane, recruiting for all things Infrastructure & Utilities. We cannot wait to learn more about Luke as he hops on the Fuse Train!

What was the last show you binge-watched?

Breaking Bad, watched season 1 in 2 days. Don’t know what it was about watching a show about an old man becoming a drug lord that made me not be able to stop watching.

If you came back in your next life as an animal, what animal would you be?

As one of my cats; they get treated so well. They get to relax all day, attention when they want it and sleep in a comfy bed. Being a cat living on Cat Island in Japan would be the best.

What was your first job?

I worked in a supermarket as stock filler/floor assistant. It taught me a lot about how to deal with people in a busy environment.

How did you get into recruitment and how long have you been in the industry?

I have a friend who wanted a person with a good sales/relationship building background for a recruitment company he was running. I have been in the recruitment industry for 2 ½ years. After 10 years working in the Insurance Industry, a move to recruitment has been a great change and challenge.

What originally got you interested in recruitment?

A new challenge building on skills that I had from previous employment. I have always been a people person and enjoy meeting new people from all walks of life.

How would your 10-year-old self react to what you do now?

Would be a bit shocked, 10 yr old me wanted to be an airline pilot or a race car driver given my families involvement in both fields at the time. My mother worked in the travel industry and I was lucky enough to be taken overseas from a young age. Motoring and Mechanics come from my grandfather who was driver/mechanic in speedway cars in the 50’s. I still work on cars to this day.

How do you motivate yourself in your career?

By enjoying the successes and learning from the failures to make them successes in the future. Learning a new thing each day, whether it be about a person or new skill, and using that to better myself.
