This is an fantastic opportunity to join a automation and process control specialist. You will be managing a small service team, supporting operational performance and providing hands-on support to Technicians. Based in Western Sydney - Northmead, the client is looking for an experienced Leading Hand for an immediate start.

Your new role:

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be managing a small team and supporting day to day operations in the workshop as a hands-on Technician and Service coordination. This is a permanent role for an immediate start!

Role includes:

  • Service, repair and installation of process control equipment
  • Diagnose and repair product issues
  • Ensuring all jobs are allocated amongst technicians within the service department
  • Oversee and supervise all aspects of our Mechanical & Safety valve services & day to day workshop operations
  • Collaborate closely with interstate workshops to engage all relevant stakeholders to effectively manage or participate in site shut downs ensuring that resources and parts are available to meet the customer's outage requirements
  • Review the workshop and its facilities; including staff, resources and equipment
  • Maintain a high-level knowledge of all products in order to assist customers
  • Review and address operational issues promptly
  • Schedule and plan the service activity to match customer dates expectations
  • Generate and prepare reports as requested
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment
  • Undertake daily housekeeping tasks

What you will need to succeed:

  • Certificate III Electrical Instrumentation or Mechanical Fitting qualifications
  • 2 years' experience in a similar leadership role
  • Restricted electrical license NSW "A" Grade Electrical License
  • Previous experience maintaining valves, actuators, positioners & calibration equipment
  • PLC Programming, Machine Automation & Control and Instrumentation
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Understanding of WHS requirements
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers
  • Must be results-orientated and ability to work independently
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Australian drivers licence
  • Confined Space ticket (desirable)
  • Working at heights (desirable)
  • White Card (desirable)
  • Forklift ticket (desirable)
