Job Description

What exactly is this role doing?

  • Coordinate and control the activities of the restart project to optimise resource use, minimise costs and maintain quality standards.
  • Supervision and direction of operator/maintainers, technical staff and contract staff.
  • Operational and maintenance training for operator/maintainers.
  • Undertake site operational and maintenance tasks.
  • Undertake tasks for the reinstatement of Scheme operational and maintenance systems.
  • Undertake asset management and maintenance planning tasks for the Scheme.
  • Manage the interface with key stakeholders on day to day basis.
  • Responsible for implementation of the Quality Assurance and Environmental and Occupational Health, Safety and Rehabilitation Systems.
  • Ensure standards, policies and approved procedures are implemented and continually monitored.
  • Involvement in preparation of project reports.
  • Preparation of incident reports and investigations.
  • Manage special projects by delegation to operations or technical staff.
  • Provide other support as required by the Scheme Engineer and Operations Manager

What do you need to be successful?

  • Trade qualifications in a mechanical, electrical or other relevant discipline.
  • Experience with maintenance management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in operations management and maintenance of water and
    wastewater treatment plants and water/waste water reticulation systems.
  • Project management experience
  • Drivers License
  • Demonstrated experience with quality assurance, OH&S and environmental systems.
  • Sound working knowledge of current industrial agreements, awards and practices.
  • Formal training in management principles.
  • Experience with the use of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and control systems.
