We are excited to be partnering with our client in Perth to assist in searching the market and presenting the very best talent. This is a senior role within their business, and a role which demands autonomy for a proven Category Manager that is able to create and deliver on customer engagement and procurement expertise.


This role is ideally suited to someone that has strong experience in building strong rapport with key stakeholders, exceptional communication and a desire to be part of a growing business. You will thrive on developing relationships with your key stakeholders and have the ability to source ingredients and packaging, locally and internationally, for production.


Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Being primary point of contact for suppliers in the Category and effectively maintaining supplier relationships
  • Completes Volume based contract tracking on all relevant categories
  • Sourcing of new materials to meet NPD requirements, ensuring appropriate risk assessments are carried out
  • Participate in the NPD process to advise on costs and sourcing availability of ingredients
  • Ensuring documentation for new suppliers is completed and submitted to relevant departments in a timely manner
  • Minimising the amount of pricing queries by maintaining effective communication with suppliers. All price changes are being submitted, approved and loaded onto VWP in a timely manner
  • Working with Finance team to resolve pricing queries
  • Ensuring Materials on hold are being checked and communicated to Procurement team as required
  • Participating in the preparation of yearly / quarterly negotiations
  • Registering for current/ new materials samples and having them approved by QA before entering NPD
  • Ensuring obsolete stock is reviewed weekly and preparing action plan
  • Reviewing weekly production schedule for shortages and errors
  • Ensuing effective and professional communication across internal and external stakeholders
  • Emails are responded to in a timely manner


To be successful in the role you will need to demonstrate:

  • Previous Category Management experience within an FMCG environment, Materials or packaging will be highly regarded
  • Strong background with Domestic and international sourcing and supply contract negotiations
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office programs which include Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Be able to act firmly, and be assertive and decisive when required
