The latest insights from JobAdder’s 2025 Benchmark Report and Bullhorn’s Global Recruitment Insights and Data (GRID) 2025 APAC Trends reveal an industry that’s rapidly transforming, both technologically and culturally.

These reports hold significant authority in the recruitment sector with Bullhorn and JobAdder being two of the most widely used recruitment CRMs globally, trusted by thousands of agencies and powering millions of candidate and client interactions each year. Their data provides a credible and comprehensive view of how agencies are adapting to a new era of AI-driven recruitment.

Across both reports, one clear pattern emerges: agencies are embracing technology, but confidence and capability vary widely. While 58% of agencies say they feel somewhat confident in their ability to adopt and use AI, 13% admit they are not confident at all

This is where Fuse Recruitment stands apart. Over the past 12 months, we’ve been building, adopting, and adapting AI and automation tools across our business, placing us among the top 23% of agencies that report being very confident in their ability to use AI effectively.

Similarly, while 66% of agencies are using AI and automation in some capacity and 14% don’t yet use it but plan to in the future, Fuse sits within the top 15% of agencies using these tools extensively. Our approach is not about automation just for efficiency’s sake. It’s about using technology to improve the experience for clients, candidates, and consultants alike.

“Technology should never replace the human connection. It should make it stronger.”
– Tyson McNeilly, CEO, Fuse Recruitment

Every automation and AI workflow we build is designed with one purpose: to enhance the human touch. By streamlining communication, personalising engagement, and removing administrative friction, our systems give consultants more time to focus on what truly matters; listening, advising, and connecting.

Both reports confirm what Fuse has been putting into practice for the past year. Recruitment is not about replacing people with technology; it’s about empowering people through technology. Through both reports, it has been made clear that the industry is shifting towards more data-driven, AI-enabled processes, but the agencies that will thrive are those that balance innovation with empathy.

At Fuse Recruitment, that balance sits at the heart of everything we do, combining advanced technology with a people-first mindset to deliver a recruitment experience that’s faster, smarter, and more human.

 1. From Adoption to Integration — Making Tech Work in Real Life

Across the industry, AI adoption has risen 17% year-on-year, with 81% of recruitment agencies now using some form of automation.

At Fuse, automation isn’t a background system; it’s part of everything we do. After more than eight years of using automation, we’ve refined it into a seamless part of our workflows across every department. And now, with the integration of AI, we’ve taken it even further. Our intelligent sequences keep candidates informed from application to onboarding and beyond.

“Candidate response times have improved by 38% since automation rollout.”

What this means for Employers:

A fully integrated system ensures candidates remain engaged throughout their journey. This consistency leads to higher conversion rates, stronger candidate retention, and a more efficient hiring pipeline

 2. AI That Thinks Beyond the Shortlist — Smarter Matching, Stronger Outcomes

JobAdder’s 2025 Benchmark Report highlights that while candidate supply has increased, hiring activity has slowed, creating a market where opportunities are harder to secure, and the emphasis has shifted to maximising every placement opportunity. At Fuse, our AI-driven database search addresses this challenge directly.

With more than 700,000 candidates in our proprietary database, our AI continuously re-matches profiles to new roles, ensuring no skilled professional slips through the cracks.

“Re-engagement campaigns powered by AI have increased candidate rediscovery placements by 20%.”

What this means for employers:

This approach means faster access to pre-vetted, high-quality candidates, even for niche or previously hard-to-fill roles.

3. Using AI to Create More Time for Relationships

The reports show 63% of recruiters believe AI will help them win new business. For us, that’s not about chasing more volume; it’s about creating more time for people.

By automating reminders, document collection, and follow-up notifications, we free consultants to focus on meaningful conversations; understanding client challenges, mentoring candidates, and strengthening partnerships.

What this means for employers:

You get a more consultative partner; one who invests time in understanding your business rather than managing admin.

4. Smarter Screening, Fairer Outcomes

According to JobAdder, 31% of agencies now use automation to screen resumes and job descriptions.

At Fuse, we’ve expanded this to re-engage past candidates, ensuring talented people aren’t overlooked simply because they’re not actively applying.

What this means for employers:

This creates access to a richer, more diverse talent pool and ensures every candidate receives equal consideration; even those who applied months or years ago.

5. Fair and Tailored Interviewing — Using AI to Reduce Bias

Both Bullhorn and JobAdder report that recruitment agencies are now moving from simply adopting AI to embedding it into strategic processes. We’ve integrated AI into interview preparation to improve fairness, structure, and relevance. Our systems generate role-specific questions tailored to each vacancy, ensuring consistent and objective assessments.

“Structured interviews powered by AI have improved candidate experience scores by 40%.”

“AI is helping our consultants be more consistent and fair in their decision-making, without losing the personal connection that makes recruitment meaningful.”
– Mathew Westcott, Managing Director, Fuse Recruitment

What this means for employers:

You gain confidence in every hiring decision, knowing each process is equitable, compliant, and data informed.

6. Automation as Everyday Infrastructure

The Bullhorn GRID 2025 (APAC) report shows that three out of four agencies now use automation as part of daily operations.

Fuse takes this one step further. Automation isn’t an occasional tool for us; it’s the backbone of our candidate care model.

“Post-placement satisfaction has increased by 36% following implementation of automated feedback systems.”

What this means for employers:

You benefit from consistent service delivery and improved communication, even in high-volume environments.

7. Smarter Notes, Sharper Insights — Staying Present, Capturing Everything

Bullhorn’s GRID 2025 Trends Report notes that agencies are increasingly using AI to improve accuracy and performance across workflows. At Fuse, we use this same principle to simplify how our consultants capture and review information.

AI-assisted interview and reference check summarisation means consultants can stay focused in conversation while the system captures and structures key details in real time.

What this means for employers:

More accurate data, fewer missed details, and faster turnaround times for feedback and shortlists.

8. Supporting Consultant Wellbeing Through Technology

Bullhorn reports that 60% of agencies say automation has improved recruiter productivity and morale.

At Fuse, by automating repetitive communication and admin, we’ve created space for creative, strategic work; the kind that improves outcomes for everyone.

What this means for employers:

Happy, supported consultants deliver better results. Lower burnout means more consistency and care across every engagement.

9. Consistent Candidate Care at Scale — Keeping Every Connection Alive

JobAdder’s report shows that candidate expectations have risen sharply, with 63% of agencies saying they’ve increased year-on-year. Meeting those expectations requires connection at scale, and that’s where our AI and automation combine.

By automatically summarising profiles and sharing them (with approval), we ensure no opportunity or candidate is lost.

What this means for employers:

Better visibility, stronger pipelines, and a more responsive candidate experience.

Future Outlook: Where Recruitment Technology Is Heading

The next phase of AI in recruitment won’t just streamline workflows; it will predict needs before they arise. Predictive analytics and adaptive learning systems will soon allow agencies to forecast hiring trends, anticipate skills shortages, and match candidates before roles are even advertised.

Fuse is already building toward this future by investing in AI models that learn from real-time placement outcomes, ensuring we continue to deliver smarter, faster, and more meaningful recruitment experiences.

“The future of recruitment belongs to agencies that use technology not to replace relationships, but to enhance them.”
– Tyson McNeilly, Chief Executive Officer, Fuse Recruitment

Bringing It All Together

The data makes one thing clear: the agencies leading the next era of recruitment are those using technology to make the experience more human, not less.

At Fuse, every automation we build and every workflow we refine is designed to make our processes more transparent, our communication more consistent, and our relationships more meaningful.

3 Questions to Ask Your Recruitment Partner in 2025

To assess whether your recruitment partner is truly future-ready, ask:

  1. How are you using AI to enhance the candidate experience; not just speed up hiring?
  2. What visibility can you provide into your automation and data systems?
  3. How do you ensure human oversight and ethical practices in your AI use?

These questions separate agencies that use technology from those that lead with it.
