Some roles are a lot easier to fill than others, and this often comes down to how many available candidates there are in the market.

SEEK has recently collected data on employment trends in 2017 compared to the previous 12 months. The study is broken up into 29 industries. Of these 29 industries 14 were categorised as easing, five were categorised as stable, and ten were categorised as tightening. An easing industry saw more applicants apply for every job, while those categorised as tightening saw less applicants for every job. Industries categorised as stable experienced minimal change during the time period.
